Mike Long. (photographer, artist, dogsbody and chief bottle washer...)

After years of retouching photographer’s images, I picked up a camera to prove how mistakes made to image recording could be avoided and save retouching time. I learned the hard way. Photography is a skilled craft which takes a careful eye and direction of one’s self to achieve a beautiful image.

I stumbled into the world of pin-up working with an amazing local model - Cherry Dollface. Realizing that this kind of photography was where my soul lies, I started to wonder if others felt the same way. Thus Portland Pin-Ups was born!

Born in Kent, England, I immigrated to the USA in the summer of 2005, settling in the San Francisco Bay area. After two happy years there, I headed North to Portland, Oregon.

I love sunlight, travel and my sons’ laugh. Not in that order.

Alongside photography, I've also spent much of the last 20 years helping other photographers with my retouching skills. Retouching projects over the years have included Apple, Adidas, MINI USA, Converse and Sony.

I am a full-time photographer. I'm lucky to have found a career that I love and it enables me to bring joy to others too!

I continue to teach photography and retouching workshops both nationally and internationally for pin-ups.

Hollie is the ONLY make-up artist I let near my clients! She brings a stunning level of perfection to her work, and helps style each shoot as well. With a rich past in music, acting and now directing, Hollie always has a story that'll have you in stiches! Hollie also went before my camera for a gift for her man, Chris...here's the pin-up she wanted to be!!:
